Our Executive Director, Nick Honerkamp, pastored for 23 years. He then went to work for a very large Christian nonprofit as their Church Development Director.
His responsibilities included visiting a different church every week (where he preached, shared 5- minute ministry updates or encouraged the church with best practices). He visited more than 100 churches (20 denominations) over a two-year period. He recruited volunteers and raised financial support for the ministry from each of these churches.
He also made friends with active pastors from these denominations and today they serve alongside of him when he is consulting with a church that matches their background and experience.
Nick Honerkamp was raised in Western North Carolina. After high school he served in the United Stated Marine Corps. He then went to work for a local Motorola radio service shop. As he raised his family, he received his Bachelor degree from Christian Life School of Theology and went into full-time ministry. He served as a staff pastor for 6 years and then as a Senior Pastor for 17 years. His unique ministry style was to mobilize congregants to serve outside the walls of the church and be deeply invested in the community. He also accepted the role of calling together churches, across denominational lines, to do large, impactful projects for the community. These experiences have led him to where he is today.
